Team Sonnenwagen Aachen · Since 2015

The future runs on sunshine. Drive it forward with us!

In 2015, students from RWTH Aachen University and FH Aachen dared to pursue a dream: building a car powered entirely by the sun. That idea became Sonnenwagen, a non-profit association driven by passion, engineering ingenuity, and the determination to push boundaries.

We want to prove that solar-powered mobility is not just a vision for tomorrow, but a reality today. And we want to actively shape the future of mobility.

Our journey has already taken us far. We have competed in the iLumen European Solar Challenge in Belgium and the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia, facing challenges, celebrating victories, and learning something new every step of the way.

Now, a new chapter begins. With the sixth generation of our solar car, we aim to race across the Australian Outback at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2027 and compete in the iLumen European Solar Challenge in 2028.

But we cannot do it alone. Every contribution brings us one step closer to the starting line and helps students turn their ideas into reality.

Support us and become part of the journey. Together, let's bring the sun to the road!
