The solar cover is installed - Let's fill up on sunshine

After finishing the testing of the battery and inverter, we have decided to finally install the race top on the car – the solar cover. Everything went well and we drove a few rounds powered by the Moroccan sun.  With the solar cells working we’re closing in on becoming race-ready.

Our race driver Kevin has landed - Catching up speed

At the European Solar Challenge in September, we already gained great advantages in the race thanks to our professional driver. Kevin Luinge was able to support us super during the internal driver training and also in the race as a driver. On Tuesday Kevin arrived in Agadir and we are all very happy to welcome him. This morning we went directly to the race track with the newly installed cover. After some difficulties we could finally drive the first successful laps. In the back the Strategy Car with the people responsible for the live review of the race car. Here a live feed of all the data from the Covestro Photon is transmitted and analyzed by the occupants.

Outlook – Convoy practice

While the final work on the Photon is being carried out, another important task is on the agenda to ensure that the race runs smoothly: preparing the convoy members. Over the next few days, they will run through as many possible situations and scenarios as possible that could occur on the course during the race. The aim is to build up routine in everyday procedures such as the departure in the morning, the radio protocol between driver and chase, tire changes, etc., as well as to react to unforeseen situations and challenges.

Sunny greetings from the whole team!
